You will talk to clients
Everyone here does. There is no account layer between the person doing the work and the person paying for it, which is better for the work and means you need to be able to explain yourself to somebody who is not technical.
You will be asked to say no
Regularly, and in writing. A lot of this job is telling somebody that the thing they asked for will not get them what they want. If that prospect makes you uncomfortable, this will be a difficult place to work.
The work is measured
We sell measurement, so we live with it. That means your work gets judged on whether the client's number moved, which is fairer than being judged on effort and less comfortable than being judged on output.
It is small
Small enough that what you build is visibly yours and there is nobody to hide behind. That suits some people enormously and others not at all, and it is worth being honest with yourself about which you are.
We are based in Islamabad and we work with clients in other time zones, so some of the week is asynchronous and written down. If you write clearly you will do well here, and if you do not, this is the skill worth building first.

A conversation
Forty minutes, no whiteboard interview and no puzzles. We will ask you to walk us through something you built and to be specific about the part that went wrong.
A paid piece of work
A real, small, scoped task, paid at a fair rate. We do not ask for free work and we do not ask for a weekend. If that is a problem for your current situation, tell us and we will find another way.
A straight answer
Within a week either way, with a reason. Being left to wonder is the most common complaint people have about hiring and it is entirely avoidable.

That last part is not a test of nerve. It is the fastest way for both of us to find out whether you look at work the way we do. Attach or link whatever makes your case. A CV is welcome and it is the least interesting thing in the email.
